Almost any type of job would be okay for this program, but we can't accept:

• Childcare
• Camp
• Medical
• Jobs found through staffing or employment agencies  
• Third parties which take a fee based on the hours you work 
• Businesses without a proper business listing, office or phone 
• We don't provide housing nor assistance in finding accomodation during your stay in the U.S.

How can I find a job offer?

• Appealing to friends or colleagues that had been in the U.S before.

What should a job offer consist of?

You must submit an official Employment Offer or Interexchange Employment Agreement Form to us.

This form must clearly state the following:

• Company contact address, telephone number and tax ID number 
• Job title and brief description
• Number of work hours per week and salary
• Brief description of housing
• Period of employment (maximum 3 months)

Important Note! InterExchange New York will contact all self placement employers to confirm each job offer and discuss the details of employment.

It is important that all Self Placement participants keep in touch with their employers to ensure that Interexchange won't have any problems verifying the job offers.

• Full Placement -
• 
  Interviews with Adira Interexchange representatives
• Orientation with Interexchange New York representatives
• Documents processing in order to obtain the DS-2019 form
• The DS-2019 Form and the I-901 (SEVIS Fee payment receipt), necessary to apply for a J-1 visa and allowing up to 4 months of work in the US
• Assistance in preparing the documents needed to apply for a J-1 visa and dropping them to the US Embassy
• Assistance in closing the medical insurance and booking the flight to US
• One job offer from an American employer containing details of hours, pay, housing and travel information to the job site
• Airport pick-up for groups of 25 or more
• Accommodation for 2 nights upon arrival in the US and a New York Orientation
• Arrival Materials about the documents you would need during your stay in US: social security card, taxes, banking etc.
• Assistance during the program

• Self Placement -
  Interviews with Adira Interexchange representatives  
• Documents processing in order to obtain the DS-2019 form  
• The DS-2019 Form and the I-901 (SEVIS Fee payment receipt), necessary to apply for a J-1 visa and allowing up to 4 months of work in the US
• Assistance in preparing the documents needed to apply for a J-1 visa and dropping them to the US Embassy

• Confirmation of all Job offers
• Arrival Materials about the documents you would need during your stay in US: social security card, taxes, banking etc
